A WEATHERING STABLE THERMOCHROMIC ROOFING MEMBRANE
The invention is directed to a roofing membrane (1) comprising a top waterproofing layer (2) and optionally a layer of fiber material (3), wherein the top waterproofing layer (2) comprises at least one thermoplastic polymerP, at least one thermochromic pigmentTP, and at least one UV-light absorberA. Such roofing membranes are able to change their color as a response to a change in temperature, which enables controlling the amount of heat energy absorbed into the roofing membrane and transmitted to a roof structure. The invention is also directed to a method for producing a roofing membrane and to a method for covering a roof substrate using the roofing membranes of the present invention.
