The invention relates to a wave installation for generating an artificial wave (14), preferably water wave, for surfing. At least one wave basin (11) is provided which can be flowed through by a liquid, in particular water (13), from an inlet to an outlet for the purposes of generating the at least one wave (14), wherein preferably an in particular adjustable guide device (12) for initiating a wave (14) in the flowing liquid is arranged in the wave basin (11). At least one pump (15) is provided for conveying liquid emerging from the outlet of the wave basin (11) via a conveying path (17) to the inlet in order to flow through the wave basin (11), wherein at least one electrical component, preferably at least one electrical appliance or at least one electrical component of the at least one pump (15), is arranged in the region of the conveying path (17) between the outlet and inlet of the wave basin (11). The invention is distinguished by the fact that an at least substantially continuous flow through the wave basin (11) is provided even in the absence of wave operation.
