A guard 2 for a floating pontoon anchored by a marine pile 8 where the pile extends through an opening (11, Fig 2) in the pontoon with a gap there-between. The guard comprises a guard body 4, which may be formed as a ring member, is dimensioned to closely surround the pile and extends outwardly from the pile to overlie the pontoon deck 10 to conceal the gap. An inner surface of the ring member may have an abrasive surface (22, Fig 3) for cleaning the pile.
