The present invention relates to a marine pile. The pile includes an inner protective layer; a structural layer adjacent the inner protective layer; and an outer protective layer adjacent the structural layer. Advantageously, the structural layer is sandwiched between the protective layers to facilitate durability, the pile may be tubular thereby making it lightweight compared with known solid piles, and the pile may be more flexible than concrete, steel or timber alternatives.
