A seal (14, fig. 7a), for use in enclosures for MRI scanners and attachment to a door (10, fig. 1) and frame (14, fig. 1), and an assembly comprising a door and frame with the adjoining boundaries of said door and frame being lined with the seal. The seal comprising a compressible flexible core material 36 in an electrically conductive non-magnetic sheath 38, and having a flat base 40, for attaching to the door and/frame, and a curved portion 42 that extends from one end of the base back over and above it. The core may comprise urethane sponge and the sheath may comprise polyester fabric coated with a nickel/copper coating. The door may be mounted to slide relative to the frame from an open position, parallel to a section of the enclosure, to a closed position, located within frame.
