The control joint, for sealing a movement or expansion gap 10 between adjacent edges of two components 9 of a buildings structure, comprises an elongate compressible body, first and second arms 2 that extend either side of the body and each lie against a respective component edge, and a central member extending from the body between the arms. The central member has a cap 1, wherein the arms and central member are dimensioned such that in use the arms each bear against a respective side of the underside 11 of the cap. The free ends 3 of the arms and the underside of the cap may be angled and match with each other. A stem may be connected between the body and cap. The control joint may be integrally extruded, and the arms, stem and cap may be resilient. Also claimed is a method of filling a movement gap.
