The control joint for sealing a movement or expansion gap between adjacent faces of two building components 4, such as tiles, has a pair of spaced plate-like members 12 mounted either side of the gap against the faces and a resilient structure 16 connecting the plates. A central member having a cap 13 extends from the resilient structure between the plates. The structure and member are dimensioned such that when in use, the plates bear against the cap from each side of the gap. The plates may have angled upper surfaces 15, while the underside 14 of the cap has two angled surfaces corresponding with the upper surfaces of the plates. The resilient structure may be an inverted V-shape, while the plates may be L-shaped to anchor the control joint. A latch having a pair of cooperating members 17,18 with complementary angled surfaces may also be included.
