A packing device 1 is disclosed, comprising two wedge members 3, 5, each having a base surface, back and front ends, and a sloping surface extending downwards towards the base surface between the back and front ends. The wedges are connected by at least one flexible connector 7. Their inclines may comprise a rack of teeth, possibly with asymmetrical tooth profiles. Each wedge might include a plurality of sloping surfaces. Each member may feature a slot extending between pair(s) of inclined surfaces. A second device comprises two members connected by a flexible connector, each having upper and base surfaces, back and front ends and at least one sloping surface. The members are such that, in use, one can be rotated or folded over one another so that their surfaces make contact. A third device features two wedge members comprising sloping ramp surfaces where, in use, the ramped surfaces make contact.
