A building is provided with a partitioning panel 1 mounted in first 2 and second 4 channels defined in respective first 3 and second 5 elongate extrusions. The first extrusion is mounted in ceiling space located above a suspended ceiling of the building with the first channel defining an opening formed in the ceiling. The first channel has a wider internal cross section than that at its mouth, for example it may comprise a circular cross section or a trapezium cross section with the mouth at the smaller of the parallel sides. The second extrusion 5 is mounted in flooring of the building in space defined below a visible upper surface of the flooring with the second channel defining an opening which may have the same cross-sectional width as the first channel opening. The partitioning panel 1 has a vertical extent greater than the vertical separation between the first 3 and second 5 extrusions. The partitioning panel 1 is mounted in place by offering up an upper edge portion of the panel to the upper channel with the plane of the panel making an acute angle to the vertical, sliding the upper edge portion into the upper channel, rotating the panel into the vertical plane with its upper edge portion within the upper channel, and then lowering the panel to drop a lower edge portion into the lower channel. The lower channel may include screw jacks 27, 28 to allow adjustment of the panel in its vertical plane. The channels may have sealing strips at their opening edges.
