The fence post assembly comprising a bracket or clip 20 having a protrusion and a pair of arms for extending around the edges of a fence panel 30, and a post 10 having at least one recess or bore for receiving the protrusion. There may be a plurality of recesses along the length of a post for receiving a plurality of clips. Clips may be moulded plastic or metal and the protrusion may be cylindrical with a series of ribs providing an interference fit into the recess. The posts may be concrete with cast or drilled recesses and panels may be wooden. Also claimed is a kit of parts, a clip and a method of assembly. The method may include locating a panel in a clip retained in an upper most recess at an angle to the vertical, rotating the panel and clip in the recess, and sliding the panel into additional clips.
