Method for mounting wall panels (1), includes providing a first wall panel (1) having a profiled first edge (15,17,19,21), said profiled first edge (15,17,19,21) including a recessed surface (32) extending along at least a part of the length of the first edge (15,17,19,21); mounting the first wall panel (1) to a surface, such as a wall 23, such that the recessed surface (32) presents an undercut void on an inner side of the first wall panel (1); and applying settable sealant (29) to the first edge (15,17,19,21) such that some of the sealant 29 bonds to the recessed surface (32). The panels may be imitation tiling panels and the outer surfaces may also have recessed edges. Adjacent panels are mounted so that the panel edges are adjacent, being bonded to the settable sealant and the join between them is concealed in the outer edge recess.
