A non-intrusive turnout system for a railway track includes, on each rail of the track, primary and secondary moveable modules 20 which are each provided with an elevated rail 18 that is selectively supportable above an underlying permanent rail 24 by respective support assemblies. Each support assembly comprises a support sub-assembly securable in position relative to a surface of the head and/or web and/or foot of an underlying permanent rail 24; and an elevated rail support surface attachable to the support sub-assembly and extendable over the rail head of an underlying permanent rail 24. The movable modules 20 may be moved between an operational position and a non-operational position by pivoting about an axis to one side of the rail.
