Dual-lever water-saving faucet
A dual control faucet or tap assembly which allows a user to reduce water usage by 50% when required while operating the faucet in a preferred manner of a single hand motion. When any one lever is operated in this manner, the water outflow is 50% of a conventional single-levered faucet. When both levers are operated, water outflow is same as that of a conventional single-levered faucet. The faucet comprises: a body having at least one fluid inlet 124, 128 and an outlet 132; a pair of devices such as levers 112A, 112B which are operable by first and second methods; a fixed plate (168 figure 25a) having at least one lower inflow aperture (324a) which bifurcates into two upper inflow apertures (324b, 326b), and two upper outflow apertures (322b, 322c, figure 25b) which converge into one lower outflow aperture (322a); a pair of movable plates (164a, 164b, figure 21a); a coupling comprising two parts (140A, 140B, figure 10) for connecting the levers to the movable plates; and a housing inside the body. The levers may be moved about two different axes so as to move the plates to vary both water flow and temperature.
