Watertight bracket for use with roofs incorporating a protective membrane
The bracket comprises an attachment piece 1 comprising a flat base plate 3, the base plate having a plurality of holes 7 for receiving roofing screws 9 therethrough and a plurality of mounting posts 5, a sealing plate 15 having a plurality of through-holes 17, and a coupling portion 11 attached to one of the attachment piece or sealing plate to allow coupling of the bracket to an additional work piece, wherein the attachment piece receives the sealing plate thereon with each mounting post passing through a through-hole such that the base plate is sealed by the sealing plate to prevent standing water on heads of roofing screws in the holes of the base plate. There may be twice as many holes in the base plate as there are mounting posts. The base plate may have first and second indicators on its periphery diametrically opposite each other. Also claimed is a method of providing an attachment point on a surface comprising using sealant and fixings to affix and secure the bracket to the surface.
