The barrier 1 comprises multiple frame modules 2, each releasably connected to one or more adjacent frame modules by at least one releasable connector 9, 15, 22. Each frame module is moveably connected to one or more adjacent frame modules to move the barrier between a closed and open position. The or each frame module may be an open structure defined by a perimeter frame or support struts. The barrier may comprise at least two securing members wherein at least one securing member is for securing the barrier to a door opening. Each frame module may comprise a wire perimeter with at least one aperture therein. The frame modules may comprise at least one reinforcement member and each connector may comprise a backplate and a locking member and/or a lid. The backplate of the or each connector may comprise one or more abutment surfaces for engagement with one or more abutment members on the lid of the or each connector.
