A barrier 100 comprises a first base member 102, a second base member 106 and an intermediate member 104. The base members include bollards 112, 114. The base members comprise first and second coupling portions 105, 107 and the intermediate member comprises a pair of third coupling portions 109, 111 which are complementary to both the first and second coupling portions. The first and second base members and the intermediate member extend in a common plane, and both the first and second coupling portions are configured to engage the third coupling portions as the first and second base members are translated along the common plane relative to the intermediate member. The base and intermediate members may be embedded in the ground. The intermediate member may connect the base members in a non-linear angular relationship. The first and second coupling portions may comprise at least one slot and the third coupling portions may comprise at least a pair of arms. A kit of parts includes base members which comprise a socket for receiving a bollard.
