The theatre comprises a circular support structure 134 surrounding and mounted above a seating area 120 for an audience, and a plurality of arcuate screens 135 suspended from the circular support structure on rails for allowing movement of the screens about the seating area. The seating area may rotate on a central bearing and be supported at its periphery by bogies, each having at least one driven wheel for driving rotation of the seating area. Also claimed is a theatre comprising a seating area for an audience rotatable about a vertical axis. Flexible helical cable conduits may be located about a fixed central cable conduit to provide a cable path between a fixed location of the theatre and the rotating seating area, each helical cable conduit comprising first and second helix portions in opposite rotating directions and connected by a reversing portion, each helical cable conduit being connected to one of a plurality of vertically spaced cable ports in the central cable conduit to form a stack. A gap may be formed between a floor area 145 and the seating area, with a forced air system for directing air from an air inlet through the gap. An automation system may control rotation of the seating area.
