The theatre comprises a seating area 120 for an audience rotatable about a vertical axis, and flexible helical cable conduits 615A, 615B, 615C, 615D located about a fixed central cable conduit to provide a cable path between a fixed location of the theatre and the rotating seating area, each helical cable conduit comprising first and second helix portions in opposite rotation directions and connected by a reversing portion, each helical cable conduit being connected to one of a plurality of vertically spaced cable ports 645A, 645B in the central cable conduit to form a stack 610. Each cable port may be connected to an upwardly extending helical cable conduits and a downwardly extending helical cable conduit. The seating area may be arranged for rotation relative to an annular floor area 145, with a rear portion of the seating area extending over the floor area, with headroom between the floor and seating areas to provide a walkway for an audience member. The theatre may comprise an audio system for controlling the audio output to the audience and an automation system for controlling rotation of the seating area, both powered by a common power supply within the seating area.
