Ceiling tile and assembly constructed of recycled materials
Method of manufacturing a ceiling tile comprising combining a binding agent with plastic flakes; passing this through a lamination machine where force is applied to create a plastic sheet and adding a decorating ceiling treatment to a first side of the sheet. The binding may be thermally activated and the laminator may apply head and force together. The ceiling treatment may also be applied using a lamination machine and may be adhered to the plastic sheet with hot melt adhesive which is cured by the laminator. The plastic flakes may include category seven (7) flakes which may include one or both of polycarbonate or bisphenol A (BPA), the flakes may be directionally aligned prior to application of force. The decorative treatment may include paper which may be recycled. The paper may include sound absorbing effects. Primer and/or finishing coats may be applied to the decorative treatment. Also included are claims to a tile which would be made by this method, a ceiling assembling comprising a frame and such tiles and a method of mounting ceiling tiles in a frame.
