PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily handled technology capable of utilizing cut chips generated when cutting a ceramic-based siding material, effectively by being used for heat insulation of a fusion furnace without being buried.SOLUTION: A heat insulator 1 for a fusion furnace for suppressing heat dissipation from a molten metal surface so as to cover the molten metal surface by being inputted into the fusion furnace is formed by constituting granularly cut chips generated when cutting a ceramic-based siding material. Preferably, the cut chips are constituted of cut powder.
【課題】窯業系サイディング材を切削加工するときに生じる切削屑を埋立処理せずに溶融炉の保温に用いて有効に活用することができ、また、その取扱いが容易となる技術を提供することを課題とする。【解決手段】溶融炉に投入されて溶湯面を覆うようにして溶湯面からの熱放散を抑制する溶融炉の保温材1であって、窯業系サイディング材を切削加工するときに生じる切削屑を粒状に構成してなるものとし、また好ましくは、切削屑は、切削粉で構成されるものとする。【選択図】図1
