PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle communication system that does not falsely find out that a portable device is in a car when it is out of the car, and on top of that, is able to reliably detect a portable device in the car.SOLUTION: A vehicle communication system comprises an on-vehicle device 1 and a portable device 2. The on-vehicle device 1 transmits a signal from a plurality of transmission antennas (3) provided on a vehicle C. The portable device 2 measures reception signal strength of signals transmitted from the respective transmission antennas (3), and transmits a response signal including the reception signal strength of each signal. The on-vehicle device 1 receives the response signal. The on-vehicle device 1 has stored narrow-space information on a narrow space fit in a vehicle room R and wide-space information on a wide space containing the whole of the vehicle room R, and selects the narrow-space information or wide-space information depending on a situation. The on-vehicle device 1 determines whether the portable device 2 is in the vehicle room or not on the basis of the selected narrow-space information or wide-space information, and the reception signal strength included in the response signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】車室外の携帯機が車室内にあると誤検出されることは無く、しかも車室内の携帯機を確実に検出することができる車両用通信ステムを提供する。【解決手段】車両用通信システムは、車載機1及び携帯機2を備える。車載機1は車両Cに設けられた複数の送信アンテナ(3)から信号を送信する。携帯機2は、複数の送信アンテナ(3)からそれぞれ送信された信号の受信信号強度を測定し、各信号の受信信号強度を含む応答信号を送信する。車載機1は応答信号を受信する。車載機1は車室Rに収まる狭空間に係る狭空間情報及び車室Rの全体を包含する広空間に係る広空間情報を記憶しており、状況に応じて狭空間情報又は広空間情報を選択する。そして、車載機1は、選択された狭空間情報又は広空間情報と、応答信号に含まれる受信信号強度とに基づいて、携帯機2が、車室内にあるか否かを判定する。【選択図】図1
