VEHICULAR OPENING/CLOSING BODY DRIVE UNIT
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular opening/closing body drive unit that can execute control for causing an opening/closing body to perform an opening operation in accordance with user's instructions and control for stopping the opening operation to inhibit collision of the opening/closing body with an obstacle and that can suppress cost for the control.SOLUTION: A vehicular opening/closing body drive unit includes: opening/closing body drive means for causing an opening/closing body (3) constituted to be openable toward the outer side of a vehicle around a rotating shaft (3A) set in the vehicle (1) to perform an opening operation; object detection means provided in the opening/closing body to detect presence/absence of an object in a predetermined space set on a free end side of the opening/closing body and the vehicle outer side relative to the opening/closing body (refer to the arrow S) in a non-contact manner; and instruction means for instructing the opening/closing body drive means to start and stop the opening operation of the opening/closing body in accordance with a detection result obtained by the object detection means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
