PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain performance for improving a bottom sediment in a water area where a bottom is constituted of a sludge layer, for example, such as the water area where the bottom constituted of the sludge layer is always buried in water.SOLUTION: A structure for improving a bottom sediment is disposed in a water area where the bottom is constituted of a sludge layer. The structure for improving the bottom sediment is an improvement material having action for improving physical properties of the sludge layer, is constituted of the improvement material being at least one of granular matter and square matter, and includes a stratified part disposed on the sludge layer and a mountainous part projecting upward from the stratified part, in which the height of the mountainous part is higher than the annual deposit height of the sludge in the water area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
