PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting apparatus of a ladder in which a descending time can greatly be shortened by lighting up the ladder with necessary minimum of illuminance.SOLUTION: A lighting apparatus 12 lights up the step of a user M using a ladder 6. The lighting apparatus 12 lights up landing positions P, Pwhere this user M steps down by the brightness enabling this user M to evacuate safely and smoothly when the user M ascends and descends the ladder 6. Lighting assemblies 13A, 13B light up the landing positions P, Pwhere the user M steps down. Here, the landing position Pis an area where the user M steps down to the ladder 6, and is substantially an entire area of the top surface (tread) of all footsteps 7 from the top to the bottom step. The landing position Pis the area where the user M steps down from the ladder 6 to the ground surface. 【課題】必要最小限の照度で梯子を照明することによって下降時間を大幅に短縮することができる梯子の照明装置を提供する。【解決手段】照明装置１２は、梯子６を利用する利用者Ｍの足下を照明する。照明装置１２は、梯子６を利用者Ｍが昇降するときに、この利用者Ｍが安全かつ円滑に避難可能な明るさによって、この利用者Ｍが足を下ろす着地位置Ｐ1，Ｐ2を照明する。照明部１３Ａ，１３Ｂは、利用者Ｍが足を着地させる着地位置Ｐ1，Ｐ2を照明する。ここで、着地位置Ｐ1は、梯子６に利用者Ｍが足を着地させる領域であり、最上段から最下段までの全ての足掛部７の上面（踏み面）の略全域である。着地位置Ｐ2は、梯子６から地表面に利用者Ｍが足を着地させる領域である。照明部１３Ａ，１３Ｂは、着地位置Ｐ1，Ｐ2の表面を照度6〜31(lx)の範囲内で照明することが好ましい。【選択図】図１
