METHOD FOR PRODUCING ALUMINUM NITRIDE SINTERED BODY AND ALUMINUM NITRIDE SINTERED BODY
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aluminum nitride sintered body which satisfies high thermal conductivity and high strength while securing high productivity and quality at a low cost and to provide an aluminum nitride sintered body.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing an aluminum nitride sintered body which comprises: a first sintering step of sintering a mixture containing aluminum nitride, a sintering assistant and a compound containing carbon atoms in the atmosphere of gas containing ammonia to produce an intermediate sintered body; and a second sintering step of further sintering the intermediate sintered body to produce an aluminum nitride sintered body, wherein the aluminum nitride in the mixture has an average particle diameter based on volume of 0.6 μm or less, the compound containing carbon atoms is contained in the mixture as a liquid or solid and all components contained in the gas containing ammonia contain neither carbon atoms nor oxygen atoms.SELECTED DRAWING: None
