EARTHQUAKE-RESISTANT MANHOLE JOINT
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earthquake-resistant manhole joint that mitigates a burden of fitting work while effectively realizing both earthquake resistance and water cutoff.SOLUTION: An earthquake-resistant manhole joint comprises: a steel cylinder 1 having a tip part 3a pressed into a drilled hole Ma formed on a peripheral wall of a manhole M, with a rubber ring 2 interposed in between, at the same time having a connection pipe P loosely inserted; and a rubber cylinder 3 fitted on an outer peripheral surface of a base edge part of the steel cylinder 1 and fitted on an outer peripheral surface of the connection pipe P loosely inserted into the steel cylinder 1. The steel cylinder 1 is of a cylindrical form with a same diameter from the tip to the base edge, and has the rubber ring 2 fixed on the outer peripheral surface of the tip part through an annular groove 4. The rubber cylinder 3 is of a cylindrical form that tapers from a tip toward a base edge. The rubber cylinder cuts off water at a portion between the outer peripheral surface of the tip part of the steel cylinder 1 and an inner peripheral surface of the drilled hole Ma by adhering on the inner peripheral surface of the drilled hole Ma while backing up the rubber ring 2 from inside on the outer peripheral surface at the tip part of the steel cylinder 1, at the same time absorbing relative displacement between the manhole M and the connection pipe P through deformation of the rubber cylinder 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
