PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear gate opening/closing device for a vehicle which can suppress a right-and-left difference of a position of a rear gate by a simple method.SOLUTION: A rear gate opening/closing device for a vehicle having a first drive unit for making a force act on one of both sides of a vehicle rear gate, and a second drive unit for making the force act on the other of both the sides of the vehicle rear gate comprises: a first detection part for detecting that one of both the sides of the vehicle rear gate reaches a prescribed position; a second detection part for detecting that the other of both the sides of the vehicle rear gate reaches a prescribed position; a discrimination part for discriminating that a side out of both the sides of the vehicle rear gate which firstly reaches the prescribed position is a preceding side; and a brake control part for braking and controlling the drive unit at the preceding side, and starting the brake control of the drive unit at the succeeding side after the lapse of a prescribed time after a start of the brake control.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
