PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rail polishing grinder holding device with which a grinder may be carried and handled easily, the burden on a worker is reduced, and which allows for excellent workability and a high degree of safety, while also providing at an inexpensive price a stable polish finish regardless of the worker's experience or skill.SOLUTION: A grinder holding device 1, used to hold a grinder 3 having a longitudinal main body 11 and a polishing part 12 provided at one end of the main body 11 and used to polish a rail 2 surface (a rail top face 2b) with the polishing part 12, comprises: a grinder holding part 6 for holding the grinder 3 at a prescribed posture; a guide part 7 which is installed on the lower side of the grinder holding part 6 to act as a guide support for the grinder holding part 6 allowing it to slide, in relation to the rail 2, in the extending direction of the rail 2; and a handle 8 having a gripping part 71, installed such that it rises up from the grinder holding part 6 and which is gripped by a worker.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
