COMMUNICATION SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE AND ON-VEHICLE UNIT
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system for a vehicle and an on-vehicle unit.SOLUTION: A communication system for a vehicle comprises an on-vehicle unit for periodically transmitting a signal from an antenna mounted on the vehicle, and a portable unit for receiving the signal transmitted by the on-vehicle unit and transmitting a response signal corresponding to a received signal. The system includes a rotation drive part connected to the on-vehicle unit for rotating the antenna by a control operation from the on-vehicle unit. The on-vehicle unit comprises: a detection part for detecting a getting-off action of an occupant riding in the vehicle; a position detection part for detecting a position of the portable unit in a time-sequential order based on the response signal from the portable unit; a determination part for determining a direction of movement of the portable unit after the getting-off action has been detected based on a change in the time-sequential positions of the portable unit; and a control part for controlling a movement of the rotation drive part so that the antenna faces a direction corresponding to the determined direction of movement.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
