PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy absorption mechanism that has effect higher than conventional one.SOLUTION: An energy absorption mechanism is used to a wooden building that comprises a pair of column material extending to the vertical direction, a pair of structural material extending to the horizontal direction, and the brace material extending to the diagonal direction connecting one junction of the column material and the structural material with the other junction. The energy absorption mechanism is fixed to the column material and/or the structural material, and the brace material. The energy absorption mechanism is provided with a first spring part and a second spring part, the first spring part having a first spring constant K1 of 1.0 to 25.0 kN/mm, and the second spring part having a second spring constant K2 of 3.0 to 50.0 kN/mm.
