BONDING AGENT AND BONDING METHOD FOR CARBON MATERIAL
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bonding agent and a bonding method for carbon material, capable of obtaining a bonding portion having strength and electric conductivity equal to or higher than those of a carbon material substrate.MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEM: A bonding agent for carbon material of this invention is a mixture of a metal Fe powder as a carbide-forming catalyst, a thermosetting resin as a carbon source such as phenolic resin, and alcohol as diluent. A bonding method comprises steps of: applying this bonding agent to bonding areas of carbon material such as graphite with a brush etc. for press-fitting; curing the bonding agent by carbidizing at 150-250°C; then heat-treating the bonding portion at a temperature of 2000°C or higher to decompose the carbide and to carbonize the bonding portion. During heating up to 2000°C or higher, the metal powder of carbide-forming catalyst reacts with the carbon in the cured resin product created by the thermal decomposition process, thereafter the metal powder is subjected to the thermal decomposition reaction and migrates to outside of the junction system, resulting in a strong joining between the carbon materials containing no void.SELECTED DRAWING: None
【課題】炭素材料基材と同等以上の強度及び電導度の接合部が得られる炭素材料用の接合剤および接合方法を提供する。【課題を解決するための手段】カーバイド生成触媒の金属Fe粉末、フェノール樹脂等の炭素源の熱硬化性樹脂及び希釈剤としてのアルコールとの混合物である炭素材料用の接合剤であり、この接合剤を黒鉛等の炭素材料の接合面に刷毛等で塗布して圧着し、150〜250℃で接合剤をカーバイド化して硬化させた後、2000℃以上で熱処理を行うことでカーバイドを分解して接合部を炭素化する接合方法である。2000℃以上までの昇温中、カーバイド生成触媒の金属粉末は、熱分解過程の樹脂硬化物中の炭素と反応しカーバイドの生成を経由した後、熱分解して系外に移動し、空隙のない強固な炭素結合部が形成される。【選択図】なし
