PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for modifying wood using a wood dimension stabilization composition that can prevent the deterioration of dimensional stability without eluting even when used outdoors where it can be exposed to moisture.SOLUTION: Wood is impregnated with a wood dimension stabilization composition containing a polyhydric alcohol and a polycarboxylic acid, and then it is heated. The polyhydric alcohol is preferably an ethylene glycol. The polycarboxylic acid is preferably citric acid.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】水分に曝され得る屋外で使用した場合でも溶出することがなく、寸法安定性の低下を抑制できる木材寸法安定化組成物を用いた木材の改質方法を提供する。【解決手段】多価アルコールと多価カルボン酸とを含有する木材寸法安定化組成物を、木材に含浸させた後に加熱する。多価アルコールとしては、エチレングリコール類が好ましい。多価カルボン酸としては、クエン酸が好ましい。【選択図】図１
