DOWN-PIPE FOR SEISMIC ISOLATION BUILDING
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a down-pipe for seismic isolation building which can prevent breakage of a down-pipe and has excellent design characteristics even when an upper building moves relative to the foundation in accordance with the operation of a seismic isolation device.SOLUTION: A down-pipe for seismic isolation building 1 used for a building having a base isolation device 10 between a foundation 9 and an upper building 8 comprises a first down-pipe 2 fixed to the upper building, a second down-pipe 7 fixed to the foundation, and a connection member 3 connected between the first down-pipe and the second down-pipe, in which the connection member has a first universal joint member 4, a cylindrical member 5, and a second universal joint member 6, each of the first and second universal joint members is formed with a convex spherical surface and a concave spherical surface, the convex spherical surface and the concave spherical surface are respectively located inside the outer diameters of the first down-pipe and the second down-pipe, the lower end portion of the first down-pipe and the first upper joint portion and the upper end portions of the second lower joint portion and the second down-pipe are fixed, and either the first lower joint portion and the upper end portion of the cylindrical member or the lower end portion of the cylindrical member and the second upper joint portion are not fixed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
