To provide a step ladder that is simple in configuration, capable of providing a stable standing work even on a rough terrain, and is lightweight.SOLUTION: A step ladder includes: a ladder-like leg body having a pair of support columns between which step rails are bridged and a top plate at its upper end portion; two rear rod-shaped supporting legs; and a pivot connection portion provided at a tip end portion of the top plate of the ladder-like leg body and causing the rod-shaped supporting legs to provide a pivotal connection to a horizontal shaft arranged in parallel to the step rails, the pivot connection portion including a tubular portion provided at an upper end portion of the rod-shaped supporting legs and having a bore that is loosely fitted on the horizontal shaft. The bore portion of the pivot connection portion is configured such that its inner radius is set to be larger than the outer radius of the horizontal shaft for allowing the two rear rod-shaped supporting legs to make it possible to open/close in a frontward/rearward direction relative to the ladder-like leg body and to make it possible to open in a right/left direction. More specifically, the two rear rod-shaped supporting legs are respectively allowed to make it possible to open/close in the frontward/rearward direction relative to the ladder-like leg body and to make it possible to open within a maximum angle between 5° or more and 45° or less in the right/left direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
