DRAINAGE MECHANISM
To provide a drainage mechanism that drains contents in a bowl of a water closet with discharge water, the drainage mechanism preventing the contents, even with a small amount of the discharge water, from clogging in a connection part between pipes.SOLUTION: A drainage mechanism of this invention, which discharges contents in a bowl of the water closet (22), includes: one pipe (24) an end of which is connected to a discharge port of the water closet (22); and another pipe (26) connected to the one pipe (24) at a connection part so that another end of the one pipe converges to a side surface of the other pipe. With respect to the connection part, when bottom parts of the one pipe (24) and the other pipe (26) are equal in height, step parts (32, 34) are provided to both the one pipe (24) and the other pipe (26); and, when bottom parts of the one pipe (24) and the other pipe (26) are different in height, one of step parts is provided to a pipe whose bottom part is lower between the one pipe (24) and the other pipe (26), on an upstream side relative to the connection part.
