To provide a shading device with a constant-load unit whose component is able to be shared in different specifications.SOLUTION: A shading device comprises a drive shaft 30 lifting a screen, and a constant-load unit 60 delivering a constant load to be applied to the drive shaft 30. The constant-load unit 60 is switchable between an independent use where the constant-load unit 60 is used independently for the drive shaft 30, and a connected use where the constant-load unit 60 is connected to a gear unit 50 changing a rotation speed of the drive shaft 30 to transmit the constant load to the drive shaft 30 while disposed upside down relative to the independent use.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 16
