To provide a pile driver which can be applied to a work site with overhead clearance restriction and which can prevent deformation of even a steel pipe pile with a relatively small diameter and perform stable construction.SOLUTION: A pile driver comprises: a vehicle body; a leader connected to the vehicle body; and a rotary press-in device 22 pressing-in a steel pipe pile into a ground. The rotary press-in device 22 comprises: a base frame 31 attached to the leader so as to be lifted and lowered; a rotating body 33 rotatably supported to the base frame via a bearing 34 and inside which a steel pipe pile X passes; and a rotary driving device 32 rotating the rotating body. The rotating body 33 includes a chuck device 40 fastening and gripping an outer peripheral portion of the steel pipe pile X. A recess 45 engaging with a protrusion X1 provided on an outer peripheral surface of the steel pipe pile X is provided in an inner peripheral portion of the chuck device 40 gripping the outer peripheral surface of the steel pipe pile X.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
