To provide a follower that has a relatively simple configuration and that can easily secure connection with and release from a pile body.SOLUTION: A follower 100 used in installing a pile body includes: an engaging member 121 that is provided rotatably on a side part of a follower body 101 and that has a hook part 121a capable of locking in a through hole 201a of an engaged member 201 provided on a pile body 200; and a rod 131 that is provided along the longitudinal direction of the follower body 101 and that rotates the engaging member 121 by moving in the longitudinal direction to release engagement with the engaged member 201.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
