To provide a method for manufacturing an outer diaphragm in which a cross section thickness is uniform and a flat plate part (a flat part excluding a curvature part of a corner part) of an outer periphery which is a joint surface of a beam is large in the circumferential direction.SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing an outer diaphragm 30 which is formed into a rectangular ring shape to be fitted to a joining position of a beam 20 to a square steel pipe column 10, a steel plate having a thickness T of 40 mm or more is formed into a cold rectangular steel pipe having a uniform inner radius of curvature at each corner by cold press molding; a cold rectangular steel pipe formed by cold press molding is formed by hot roll molding in a throttle shape so that its inner surface curvature radius becomes a prescribed inner surface curvature radius corresponding to an outer surface curvature radius r of each corner part of the square steel pipe column 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】断面厚さが均一で且つ梁の接合面である外周の平板部分(コーナー部の曲率部分を除く平坦な部分)が周方向に大きい外ダイヤフラムの製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】角形リング状に成形され、角形鋼管柱10に対する梁20の接合位置に外嵌される外ダイヤフラム30の製造方法であって、板厚Tが40mm以上の極厚鋼板を冷間プレス成形によって、各コーナー部の内面曲率半径が均一となる冷間角形鋼管に成形し、冷間プレス成形によって成形した冷間角形鋼管を、その内面曲率半径が、角形鋼管柱10の各コーナー部の外面曲率半径rに応じた所定の内面曲率半径となるように絞り状に熱間ロール成形によって成形する。【選択図】図1
