To provide a mating material precursor for a friction stopper and its manufacturing method, a mating material for the friction stopper and its manufacturing method, and the friction stopper, capable of stabilizing a friction coefficient of the friction stopper from the initial time of applying.SOLUTION: A mating material precursor 2 for forming mating material of friction material for a friction stopper is formed from a steel plate and a surface formed of a transfer layer 3 is rough surface 2a. A mating material 9 has the mating material precursor 2 and the transfer layer 3 formed on the rough surface 2a. The friction stopper 300 has a mating material 10 and a friction material 30, the mating material 10 and the friction material 30 are assembled, and the transfer layer 3 and the friction material 30 are freely slidable to each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
