To provide a vehicle stop device which is highly effective in stopping a vehicle, can be easily installed on a road, is safe for a driver, and has a simple structure.SOLUTION: A vehicle stop device comprises: a collision part against which a front surface of a travelling vehicle collides; and a plate-like or sheet-like brake part extending from the collision part to a direction that the vehicle that collides comes from, and contacting the road surface. The collision part comprises: an energy absorbing member; and a rigid member for supporting the energy absorbing member against the direction that the vehicle that collides comes from. A length of the brake part is at least long enough to receive front wheels of the vehicle within the brake part when the front surface of the vehicle that collides contacts the energy absorbing member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】車両を停止させる効果が高く、道路上に簡易に設置でき、運転者にとっても安全であり、構造が簡単な車両停止装置を提供することを課題とする。【解決手段】走行してきた車両の前面が衝突する衝突部と、前記衝突部から衝突する車両が進入してくる方向に伸び路面に接地される板状又はシート状の制動部を有し、前記衝突部がエネルギー吸収部材と前記エネルギー吸収部材を車両が進入してくる方向に向けて支持する剛性部材を備え、前記制動部の長さが前記衝突する車両の前面が前記エネルギー吸収部材に接したときに、少なくとも前記車両の前輪が載る長さであることを特徴とする車両停止装置。【選択図】図1
