To provide a production method for pulverizing media such as balls or beads preventing breakdown during pulverization, improving the abrasion resistance thereof to prolong the service life thereof and used in a pulverizer such as a vibration mill or a sand mill.SOLUTION: A production method for a pulverizing media consisting of a ceramic sintered body including zirconia as a main component comprises: a drying process of drying a compact of a particle size D (mm) prepared by molding ceramic raw material powder including zirconia as the main component into a spherical type at a moisture decrement A (wt.%/h) based on 100 wt.% of the weight before drying; and a sintering process of sintering the compact went through the drying process. The above particle size D and the moisture decrement A satisfy the relation of D×A≤0.5D+1.SELECTED DRAWING: None
