To provide means of preventing toppling of a construction machine working on a road shoulder with an inclined slope face.SOLUTION: Means of preventing toppling of a construction machine in this invention comprises: a first slope face angle calculation part which based on configuration data calculates a first slope angle that is the inclination angle of a slope face against the ground plane of a construction machine; a gradient sensor which detects a ground plane angle that is the inclination angle of the ground plane against the horizontal plane; a second slope face angle calculation part which calculates a second slope face angle that is the inclination angle of the slope face against the horizontal plane by adding the first slope face angle to the ground plane angle; a setting part which sets a height-limiting value for the tip position of the work device according to the second slope face angle; and a restriction part which restricts the movement of the aforesaid work device so that the tip position remains at the height-limiting value or below.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
