To provide a honeycomb structure excellent in thermal shock resistance and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: A honeycomb structure is composed of a plurality of porous honeycomb block bodies jointed via jointing material layers A. The porous honeycomb block body is composed of a plurality of porous honeycomb segments jointed via jointing material layers B, wherein the porous honeycomb segment has partition walls for partitioning a plurality cells which extend from an inlet end face to an outlet end face of a fluid and in which the fluid flows and an outer peripheral wall located at an outermost periphery.
