To provide a water gate open/close device allowing a height level to be lower when at least one of base bodies of a drive unit and an accompanied unit is designated as a reference.SOLUTION: In a water gate open/close device 10 lifting a door body P as having: a sprocket 11 around which a chain C1 is placed, wherein one end of the chain is connected to a door body P; and a driving unit 13 provided with a motor 12 rotating and driving the sprocket 11: a base plate 25 secured on an upper side of a base body K with a through hole Q1 of which an inside the chain C1 is passing through, on which the driving unit 13 is placed; and guide means 26 guiding the chain C1 right below the driving unit 13, wherein the guide means 26 is arranged totally at a lower position than that of a lower end of the base plate 25.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
