To provide a universal expansion joint used in a joint portion as a connection part of various cables, expanded and contracted while following ground fluctuation caused by earthquake and the like, and preventing damage, disconnection and the like of the cables and the like by being bent.SOLUTION: A universal expansion joint includes an expansion/contraction mechanism 10 disposed on an end portion of a wiring protection pipe 1 made of a flexible metallic spiral pipe to house or expose the wiring protection pipe 1, and the expansion/contraction mechanism 10 is composed of a sheath pipe 20 covering the wiring protection pipe 1, and an expansion/contraction operation member 30 such as a coil spring mounted inside of the sheath pipe 20 to constantly resiliently bias the wiring protection pipe 1 from the inside of the sheath pipe 20 in a projecting manner. In the expansion/contraction mechanism 10, a first member fixing body 2 for fixing one end side of the expansion/contraction operation member 30 mounted in the wiring protection pipe 1 in a contracted manner, is mounted on one terminal end of the wiring protection pipe 1, and the expansion/contraction operation member 30 is mounted in a contracted manner between the first member fixing body 2 and a second member fixing body 12 slidably fitted to the wiring protection pipe 1, and fixed to a projecting opening end of the sheath pipe 20 in a resiliently biased state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】各種ケーブルの接続箇所であるジョイント部に使用され、地震その他による地盤変動に追随して伸縮し、曲がることでケーブル等の損傷、断線等を防止する。【解決手段】可撓性を備えた金属性螺旋管製の配線保護管1の端部に配線保護管1を収納あるいは外出させる伸縮機構10を備えて成り、伸縮機構10は、配線保護管1を覆うさや管20と、さや管20内から配線保護管1を外出傾向に常時弾発付勢させるようさや管20の内部に縮装したコイルスプリングの如き伸縮操作部材30とから成る。伸縮機構10において、配線保護管1の一方の末端には、配線保護管1に縮装した伸縮操作部材30の一端側を固定する第1部材固定体2を装着し、この第1部材固定体2と、配線保護管1にスライド自在に嵌め合わせ、さや管20の外出開口端に固定した第2部材固定体12との間に伸縮操作部材30を弾発付勢状態で縮装する。【選択図】図1
