To provide a snap lock and a portable container that can make a torsion spring work more securely.SOLUTION: A snap lock 40 includes a base member 41 having a support pin 45, a lever member 43 supported for rotation around the support pin 45 relative to the base member 41, a hook member 44 rotatably supported by the lever member 43 and attachable to a member to be engaged, and a torsion spring 47 that urges the lever member 43 toward the base member 41. The torsion spring 47 includes a coil portion 47a through which the support pin 45 is inserted, a first spring end 47b located at one end of the coil portion 47a and connected to the base member 41, and a second spring end 47c located at the other end of the coil portion 47a and connected to the hook member 44. A first spring end 47b is formed into a ring shape through which a bar portion of the base member 41 is inserted. A second spring end 47c is formed into a ring shape through which a hook end 44b of the hook member 44 is inserted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
