To provide an efflorescence inhibitor capable of preventing the occurrence of efflorescence in a cement-hardened body, and to provide a method for preventing efflorescence of a cement-hardened body using the efflorescence inhibitor.SOLUTION: There is provided an efflorescence inhibitor comprising an alkylene oxide adduct of a lower alcohol represented by chemical formula (1). There is also provided a method for preventing efflorescence of a cement-hardened body using the efflorescence inhibitor, the method comprising applying the efflorescence inhibitor on the surface of the cement-hardened body.
