To provide a method for producing a novel catalyst carrier capable of further improving catalytic performance.SOLUTION: The method for producing a catalyst carrier comprises the steps of: kneading an active metal-containing solution and hydraulic alumina to obtain a first kneaded product; drying the first kneaded product; further kneading the dried first kneaded product, a binder, and a liquid component to obtain a second kneaded product; molding the second kneaded product to obtain a molded product; and firing the molded product.SELECTED DRAWING: None
