To provide a dimming device and a dimming control method for enabling a user to grasp the external environment without manually operating the state of a dimming film.SOLUTION: A dimming device includes: a dimming film that is brought into either one of transparent and opaque depending on whether it is in an energized or de-energized state; and a switching unit that switches the energized state or the de-energized state so that the dimming film becomes transparent when the external state of a window in which the dimming film is installed is determined to be abnormal based on disaster information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】ユーザが調光フィルムの状態を手動で操作することなく外部環境を把握することが可能な調光装置及び調光制御方法を提供する。【解決手段】通電状態または非通電状態のいずれかの状態であるかに応じて、透明または不透明のいずれかの状態となる調光フィルムと、前記調光フィルムが設けられた窓の外部の状態が、災害情報に基づいて異常な状態であると判定された場合に、前記調光フィルムが透明の状態となるように前記通電状態または前記非通電状態を切り替える切替部と、を備える、調光装置。【選択図】図１
